Auriculotherapy (Ear Acupuncture)

The theory behind this intriguing therapy is that the various parts of the ear have 'reflexes' that correspond to the body's organs, glands, systems and structures.

All of the ear reflexes have been electronically mapped to show that by stimulating the relevant points there is a direct effect on the corresponding area or part of the body.

Because all parts of the body and the nervous system are represented on the ear it means that this is an efficient method of treating all kinds of conditions including allergies, stress  and depression (and even addictions such as smoking, drinking and drugs) as well as being very effective for treating physical ailments, especially those involving pain.

Various methods are used to stimulate the reflexes such as finger or thumb pressure, small gold or silver press studs or even tiny herbal seeds but probably the most common method of application is using tiny sterile acupuncture needles or a hand held point stimulator similar to a TENS machine.
